An initiative of the Laurens County Board of Health, the Heart of Georgia Healthy Start Initiative (HGHSI) has empowered and uplifted families across Georgia’s South Central Health District for more than 30 years. Through individualized services and programming, we’ve made it our mission to champion pregnant and parenting community members and their infants.

HGHSI serves pregnant and parenting women, their children (up to age 18 months), and fathers with children (up to age 24). Our service area includes all ten of the South Central Health District's counties.
HGHSI offers comprehensive maternal and child health services for families through thoughtfully designed programming and resources. Each of our programs and services are led by highly trained staff, case managers, and health educators.
